In 1972, I started my law enforcement career as a Deputy Sheriff in Lamoille County Vermont, and as a University of Vermont Campus Police Officer. In 1974, I moved to Colorado where I became a Certified Colorado Law Enforcement Officer. After four years, I moved from Colorado to Iowa to serve as a Detective with the Benton County Sheriff’s Department.
 
I became a Certified Iowa Law Enforcement Officer and was a Detective Supervisor with the Benton County Sheriff’s Department for the next 23 years. During this 29 year period, I attended over 2,248 hours of specialized Law Enforcement training at Federal, State, Local and Private agencies and institutions. These include: The State of Vermont Police Academy, State of Colorado Law Enforcement Academy, State of Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, The Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, KY, The Traffic Institute at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center at Glynco, GA, The DEA Academy at Quantico, VA and many others. A brief synopsis of this training includes: Death/Homicide Investigation, Hostage Negotiation, Latent Fingerprint School, Advanced Police Investigation School, Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Training, Undercover Investigations School, Arson and Fire Investigation including the Federal Advanced Arson for Profit School, Federal Drug Unit Commanders Supervisory School, numerous Crime Scene and Photography Schools, Intelligence Investigations School, Child Abuse and Exploitation Investigative Techniques Training, Asset Forfeiture Training, DEA Clandestine Laboratory Certification Program, DEA State and Local Tactical School, DEA Clandestine Laboratory State & Local Site Safety Officer Certification School and many more. In 1991, I became a member of the RAID Drug Task Force in Eastern, Iowa. From that time until 1995, I participated in Drug Investigations of all types including working undercover. In 1995, I was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration, (DEA) Drug Task Force in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and remained attached to that group until my retirement in 2001.
 
During my time with the DEA Drug Task Force, I worked extensively within the Federal Court system including the United States Attorney Office, Federal Grand Juries and Federal trials. I was honored and received a Meritorious Achievement Award from the Federal, West Central Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force for “Operation Cessna”. This operation resolved the theft of more than 10 million dollars worth of privately owned American aircraft that were stolen in the United States, then flown to the country of Colombia. I spent the last three years of my DEA career working on DEA’s Methamphetamine Clandestine Laboratory Team in Eastern Iowa.  

I am available for all types of investigations including, but not limited to,: Fraud Investigations, Insurance Investigations, Background and Employment Investigations, Private Sector Drug and Narcotics Investigations, Missing Persons, Criminal Investigations and assistance to the Private Sector in recognizing and dealing with Criminal and Non-Criminal matters within the corporate environment.
 
I have extensive experience with cases involving complex conspiracies. I have also provided training in all facets of law enforcement throughout my career
 
I am available to provide assistance and advice on trial preparation, witness interviews and strategy and assist in organizing and structuring witnesses and other issues for trial. I am prepared to testify in court on all matters related to any investigation that I conduct. I have over 34 years of Law Enforcement and Investigative experience and have received over 2500 hours of Law Enforcement and Investigative training.
 
I am a Vietnam Veteran and had a Top Secret Security clearance while serving in the U.S. Navy.
